Job and employer: Public Relations; Knowledge Management and Communication; Freelance journalist; Trainer and Lecturer on Media and PR projects.
Languages: Not at my target yet,(Noli used to speak 11 languages); however, fluent in English, French and Italian. Excellent command of written, spoken and preserved Albanian; sufficient knowledge in Spanish and German (enough not to get lost in the respective countries), etc.
Education: Tirana University, Media studies, 1997-2001
Several post graduate studies and long term trainings ever since, including:
“Script writing for short documentaries” and “Communication for Social Change”, England and Sweden.
“Human Rights and International Law” – University of Lund, Sweden;
Droits de l’Homme et démocratie – Geneva, Switzerland
School of Political Studies – by Council of Europe (Tirana and Strasbourg)
Human Rights and Democracy – Montreal, Canada.
Communication for Development – Malmo University, Sweden
Work achievements: One of the first Albanian female active reporters in the media, working among others for “Koha Jone”, “Panorama” and “Tirana Observer” newspapers as well as for “TVA”, TV Koha” and other medias before leaving Albania for an international experience (collaborations with BBC, CODAP, MoB, etc.)
First success: Overcoming mine and everybody else’s skepticism about my gender and professional abilities.
Most recent achievement: Replicating the representation of the new face of Albanian Politics at the European Council. Have to get back there a sit-holder, not replicator.
Wake-up time: Between 6.30 and 06.45 am.
Working hours: 07.15 – 20.00
Job’s most rewarding moments: “I did it”. Yes, good things can still happen at work.
Nightmare: Can’t it be once in my life to believe Baldwin? “Dominance, nightmare, soul – against the possibility of the changing motion of conquest and surrender”
Sports: Swimming, swimming, and swimming again.
Passive sport: Spent many hours of my teen years watching football. It was about the game, not the players.
Hobby: Making sense. If there’s no sense in my surroundings, I’m stuck until I find where is hiding. If there is no sense, I invent it.
Food: Bio, fresh, anything from Chinese to Swedish. However, I prefer Mediterranean…and white, not red wine.
Dreamland: The peace of bay I was born in. By the seaside, 15 minutes from the snow covered mountain.
Treasure: My orientation. Hard to let me go. It likes me very much, under no circumstances would leave me alone.
My assets: Integrity, insistence, ambition, adeptness, sense of humor.
Areas for improvement: Diplomacy 🙂
I don’t like others when they: …when they want MY help to destroy me.
My best time last year: As usual, Florence, with my little nephews. We are four of a kind, laugh hard and bring the world around this laughter.
Quality time outside the office: Reading, writing, singing, dancing and spending time with my family, friends or colleagues outside Tirana.
Things that keep me awake at night:Do I have enough time for all my tasks? There is so little time left for more reading. Am I going fast enough? Slow enough? Why did this happen? Who? What for? What’s next?
Things that get me out of bed in the morning:: Important work deadlines and traveling.
Favorite reading: From Caesar to Clinton, from Napoleon to Stalin, Churchill to Hitler, I enjoy reading what’s been up to these people’s mind during their peak times. Politics, development theories, communication, education and globalization also keep me going whilst reading.
On the plane: Always a book…and a cup of sugarless coffee.
Right now: Blair Years
Role model in my industry: Alastair Campbell .
Role model outside my industry: Tony Blair. A master of words and politics. True and real speaking tank.
Me in 2020: Definitely making good decisions, and not only for me.
